ABOUT WHITTLE'S

Bistro & Restaurant

Whittle's Restaurant

Whittle’s at Binswood is a unique restaurant and bistro in the heart of the Royal Leamington Spa conservation area.

The restaurant is set within the beautiful Grade II Listed 19th century Victorian Binswood Hall and exhibits a stunning collection of art, including artists such as Patrick Nasmyth, Willem Roelofs and Francis Grant.

Binswood Hall is also home to the Audley Club, which has its own luxury health club, swimming pool and library.

Whittle’s bar, bistro and restaurant are bursting with English charm and character, with a stunning chic and relaxed atmosphere that makes it a truly special place to dine. With its luxury interior and proximity to the town centre, a dining experience at Binswood Hall is second to none.

VICTORIAN SPLENDOUR

Built in 1847, Binswood Hall was inspired by Hampton Court Palace, with pattern brickwork, Bath and Caen stone dressings and projecting octagonal turrets. Throughout the years it has been home to several distinguished schools, most notably Leamington College for Boys.

The inventor of the jet engine - Sir Frank Whittle, studied here between 1918 and 1923 and is where the Whittle's name comes from. He learned most of his engineering at his father’s workshop, the Leamington Valve and Piston Ring Co at Clinton Street but also touched the Binswood Hall history.

ROYAL LEAMINGTON SPA & LOCAL AREA

The bustling spa town grew exponentially from the 18th century after the popularisation of its saline springs, which were considered to have healing properties. So much so that Queen Victoria took waters at Royal Leamington Spa and in 1838 granted a ‘Royal’ prefix.

What had formerly been the village of Leamington Priors was instantly transformed into one of England’s most fashionable spa resorts. It is famous for its Regency architecture and is named after the beautiful River Leam that runs through the town, complemented by lush natural scenery and panoramic views of the countryside.

Today it remains an elegant spa town with an excellent range of amenities including numerous shops, restaurants and theatres.

Situated just two minutes from Royal Leamington Spa’s Regency Shopping Parade, Whittle's is located centrally in the town and is just a short stroll away from the famous Pump Rooms and beautiful Jephson Gardens. It is conveniently close to the M40, main line station from London Marylebone or Birmingham, and junction 18 of the M1 just thirty minutes' drive away.
